It's very rare that you have an opportunity to look directly down onto a race car. This shot, which was taken in Australia, was done from an overhead walkway that joined the starters box to the pit area. I had to be quick because you are not supposed to stop on the ramp area. And... the cars are moving as that is the grid/staging area just below the walkway and they are getting ready to go out onto the track. What I loved about taking the shot was the long shadows almost giving the car and extra visual life of it's own. Marty Sullivan
